Seasonal Bat Ecologist Vacancies

About -

Seasonal bat ecologists support our licensed bat survey team between mid-May and August - up to two evenings or early mornings per week. Each survey takes 3 - 5 hours, including travel time, and seasonal surveyors would be needed on an ad-hoc basis. Surveys would generally take place within one hour traveling time from Inverness.

This a a great opportunity for anyone looking to build on and log bat survey survey experience; particularly useful for those wishing to record visits with licensed surveyors and trainers in support of an application for a Scottish Natural Heritage Bat Survey Licence.

Role requirements -

Some experience of bat detector use, bat identification and activity survey is desirable and we ask that candidates have a full, clean driving licence, are reliable, organised and flexible with time and are based within easy reach of Inverness.

Our Offer -

  • Minimum £15 per hour, subject to experience (includes travel time)
  • Mileage reimbursed - 45p per mile
  • Training and support by a licensed bat ecologist trainer
  • Full training on survey techniques and analysis would be given, as required

Vacancies -

Our 2019 seasonal bat ecology team is now full - no vacancies; however, if you would like to be considered for joining our team for a future bat season, enquiries from candidates with relevant survey experience are welcome, so please get in touch.
